PSTC 2005 Week of Learning Expanded; Focus on Tape
The Pressure Sensitive Tape Council presents the 2005 Week of Learning, May 2-6, 2005, in Baltimore, Maryland, featuring learning opportunities for all involved in the pressure sensitive adhesive tape industry.
"Our 28th Technical Seminar remains the key element of the Week of Learning," said Technical Seminar Committee Chair Deborah Chrzanowski, Intertape Polymer Group.
"In addition, PSTC is offering two levels of its highly regarded Tape University course as well as a one-time Radiation Curable PSA Technology Workshop."
The Technical Seminar, May 4-6, includes more than 25 technical presentations on topics impacting the industry in the areas of applications, chemistries/radiation/fundamental understanding; environmental/marketing; process/equipment; and testing/DOE/analytical rheology. Technical papers are presented orally and published in the 2005 proceedings, which is provided to all attendees and available for sale after the seminar. The Technical Seminar also features Exhibit Showcase 2005, the only pressure sensitive adhesive tape industry tradeshow, and poster presentations on technical projects in process.
Tape University 100 makes its debut during the 2005 Week of Learning. This one-day course goes back to the basics of pressure sensitive adhesives and allows sales, marketing, quality control or customer service attendees to gain an understanding of the common language of tape.
Tape University 102 is PSTC's highly technical two-day course for scientists, researchers and engineers looking for advanced instruction specific to tape. Course content addresses the chemistry, physics, process, engineering and formulation of manufacturing tape.
As a bonus to attendees of the above paid events, PSTC is offering a free three-hour workshop on radiation curable pressure sensitive adhesives. This alternative technology is gaining in popularity, and workshop leaders address all aspects and future direction.
An Industry Who's Who
In addition to Intertape Polymer Group, the Technical Seminar Committee includes industry leaders from Adhesives Research, Inc., American Biltrite Inc., Eastman Chemical Company, National Adhesives, 3M and Wausau Paper.
The Tape University faculty, led by Chair Steven P. Hebert of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, includes instructors from Adchem Corporation, Adhesive Applications, Inc., National Adhesives, Shurtape Technologies, Inc., Tyco Adhesives and Wausau Paper.
How to Register
Registration forms and additional Week of Learning information are available at www.weekoflearning.pstc.org. Discounts are available for early registration and combined attendance.
The Pressure Sensitive Tape Council is the only association for North American pressure sensitive tape manufacturers. Membership consists of 24 companies representing approximately 92 percent of the tape volume produced in North America.
