The Pressure Sensitive Tape Council (PSTC) is pleased to announce Stan Williams, Director of Technical Projects, Shurtape Technologies and Dr. Graeme Roan, Director, Business Development, CCT, as the first recipients of the Council’s newly established President's Award. The President’s Award honors outstanding volunteers who have served on a committee with the purpose of advancing PSTC's mission and vision.
Stan Williams(l), Director of Technical Projects, Shurtape and Dr. Graeme Roan (r), Director, Business Development, CCT, were recently named recipients of PSTC's 2015 President's Award.
Mr. Williams presented his first PSTC class in 2001 and joined the PSTC Education Committee in 2002. With 38 years of experience in the PSA Tape industry, Mr. Williams’ extensive knowledge and passion for teaching others has been a valuable asset helping PSTC grow its educational offerings to the levels they are to this day.
Dr. Roan joined the PSTC Education Committee in 2003 and was part of the group until May 2013. During his time with the Committee, Dr. Roan helped to rewrite and update PSTC courses, which resulted in reconfiguring “Fundamentals of PSA Tapes” into a one-day course. Dr. Roan also contributed to the development of two other PSTC courses: “Manufacturing and Testing of PSA Tapes,” and “Adhesives and Advanced Technologies of PSA Tapes.”
In 2013, Dr. Roan volunteered to chair PSTC’s Marketing Committee, which has been focused on advancing an overall PSTC branding initiative, including branding PSTC’s flagship “Responsible Tape Manufacturer” (RTM) program and the recent introduction of PSTC’s sister website, ThinkTape.org.
Criteria for the PSTC President’s Award include:
- Successful interaction with members of the committee, board and staff.
- Advances the mission of PSTC through talent and service.
- Demonstrates measurable results of individual and/or committee group tasks that are clearly contributed to the individual.
Mr. Williams and Dr. Roan will be honored during the PSTC 2015 Fall Executives Meeting, taking place at the Trump National Doral Miami in Doral, FL, November 9-11, 2015.
